Lets go Athens

Avdi Square

This square is located in the “Metaxourgeio” district of the municipality of Athens, specifically between Millerou, Leonidou, Giatrakou and Kerameikou streets. It is a verdant square with many shops offering food, coffee, drinks, snacks, as well the building of the new Athens Municipal Art Gallery. Its name was given in memory of Leos Avdis, who was the head of the municipal faction of the Municipality of Athens.

Currently, under the responsibility of the Municipality of Athens, Avdi Square has been delivered clean and well-preserved to the Athenians. Clean, well-trimmed and with well-preserved green areas, follwing the coordinated intervention of the Authorities of the Municipality of Athens, it was delivered more beautiful and friendly, as it should be. The lighting was completely restored. Crews pruned the trees and took care of the low vegetation. The damage to the benches was repaired and painted. Floor waste baskets were replaced – where repair was not possible – and the project was completed by workers in the cleaning department who swept, washed and disinfected the square area.
